Our newest and most luxurious accessible accommodation!
"The Oven’s Valley cradles the fog this morning. The sky fades from light blue to purple and a million colours in between. Looking at my phone I’m reminded of two things: right here, right now, anyone’s photo will look like a professional photo, and - there’s fog because it’s cold out there and I’m happy to be on this side of the glass.
As my morning tea brews and the sun slowly reaches up the wall I notice the floor-to-ceiling windows were uncovered last night – that’s because the starry night sky is just as captivating as the morning sun.
I’m at Panoramia Villas, in the accessible villa named “Tsuchi" – it’s pronounced “too-shi” and is Japanese for earth. The name seems apt as the building is nestled into the side of the hill and even has soil across the roof.
Arriving last night I was immediately impressed at the features of this villa, from the dedicated accessible parking and step-free entrance – into the generous living area and onto the full size kitchen; complete with gas cooktop, electric oven, full size fridge and microwave.
The phrase ‘self-contained’ tips into luxury when you notice the bathroom’s accessible features — and, would you believe, an oversized bath complete with thick towels and luxury toiletries?
The surfaces are flat tiles, most doors a light sliding-style and there’s a good balance of seating and space.
As I drain my teacup and sunlight fills the room, I gaze at the nearby Japanese garden, realizing how easy it would be to sit at the kitchen table, completely relaxed, and stare out at the ‘tsuchi’ — the valley — until it captures the fog once again. " - Ryan Smith, Aug 2025
